THE INDUSTRY STATUS QUO vs. THE BETTER STATUS QUO

Artists right now are altogether being treated unfairly by the entertainment powers to be, especially online. Creating a video can often take days or weeks, costing the video creator hundreds of dollars to make the video, either in shooting expenses, or in lost wages from working on videos and not going to a normal job:), not to mention the emotional effort exerted in the creative and technical process. And how it normally works in the mainstream, is the the artist then uploads the video to a YouTube-type video-sharing site, writes a description, advertises it, and manages it. And for all that, earns nothing in return.

We're making it so the artist gets everything that they deserve in return. And what they deserve, what they all deserve, is to be their own independent entertainment company that creates content, creates ad campaigns, and makes a profit from entertaining others -- or providing informational viewing experiences such as news and education.

On the web, video creators deserve customizable space to aire their content and freedom to monetize their content (i.e., with banners or in-video ads, to profit from entertaining their viewers). Or, to charge their viewers, like any other entertainment company, for watching the entertainer's programming.

While we will always give you the ability to be your own entertainment company, profiting wholly from your own ads, we will soon offer you the option to have us run all your ads for you, and we would then split the earnings from that ad, with you, the content creator, getting the greater percentage of those ad earnings.

BetterStream Entertainment says that the days of big companies being the only ones to make a profit off of their [rehashed] product are over. It's time for a movement from creators assuming the role of forced volunteers to owners profiting from their work and choosing how they'll make that profit. This is the free-market birthright of all Artists, all american citizens and all citizens and human beings on planet earth:

"ARTISTS HAVE TO GET PAID"

A Businessweek article entitled "Artists Have To Get Paid cites Geoffrey Moore (tech consultant and venture capitalist) throughout as saying that the most fundamental aspect of any attempt to digitally distribute content is that "artists have to get paid."

We, at BetterStream.com believe strongly in the principle that artists have to get paid for their work and we are the only ones that we know of who are truly practicing this belief and allowing artists to monetize their content and audience.

There are a lot of sites claiming to cut artists into the revenue, but we have found them all to be deceptive in their "revenue sharing", yes, we're talking about huge video-sharing portals like Revver, YouTube, and Metacafe.

For example, our founder had videos on Revver that were making 1-2 cents per ad impression when he first signed up and then six months later, those same ad impressions were paying less than a tenth of one cent per impression. Metacafe would refuse to pay him on more than half the videos entered into their partner program. And YouTube would just lead him on forever and ultimately provide him with deceptive reasons for excluding him from their partner program. We don't have any qualifications to partner here. All users are partners upon signing up.

Further, there's no chance of any shady revenue-sharing schemes happening here at BetterStream.com, not just because we're a good, honest company with a highly principled founder (after all, anyone can say that they're honest) but because we give you control over your own ads and the monetization thereof. Very few to none can say that. We won't even know what you're making.

When you log into your account, you'll be able to upload banner ads of your own or even write in text ads. And these rotating ads will display when your videos are being watched and when someone visits any of your webpages on BetterStream.com.
